Congratulations to BEA HS Business and Career and Technical Education Teacher, Holly Vogltance, who was selected to be the recipient of the 2025/2026 Quarter 2 Traveling Teacher Trophy! Each quarter, students get the opportunity to nominate a teacher who goes above and beyond to make BEA a beautiful place! 🤩

Huge thanks to Michelle Hall and her awesome, attentive Silver Sneakers crew at the Fitness Center for allowing Superintendent Fletcher a few minutes after today’s workout to share some Facilities facts!
Michelle agreed to the presentation on one condition—that the Mrs. Fletcher join the workout first (deal accepted 😅💪). It turns out the Silver Sneakers class was WAY harder than she anticipated, and there may have been a friendly comment about Michelle being a little aggressive with the weights she recommended .😆
If any other groups are willing to spare a few minutes to hear Facilities facts, Superintendent Fletcher would be happy to join your meeting too—though participation negotiations may be on the table next time!

The BEA HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) club has been competing in their Mid-Winter Competitive Events this past month and officially finished up this past Friday. Even though this conference is intended to help give our members experience with practicing their events, that makes it extra fun to celebrate our top 10 place winners!

🥶Building Update
Earlier today, our K–7 building experienced some heating issues, resulting in a portion of the morning without heat. During that time, some classrooms turned into “winter wear zones,” with students choosing to wear their coats while our maintenance team worked on the problem. Thanks to their quick work and temporary fixes, heat has been restored to the building. We will continue to monitor the system and are working to schedule permanent repairs as soon as possible. A big thank-you to our maintenance team—and to our students and staff—for their patience and flexibility.

🗳️🏛️ Learning Beyond the Classroom! 🏛️🗳️
Last week, some of our high school juniors--along with students from USC and Maple River--had an incredible experience at County Government Day, getting a behind-the-scenes look at how local government works. Students toured the courthouse, met with the judge, observed real court cases, and even sat in on a County Commissioners meeting, gaining first hand insight into local decision-making.
They also visited the law enforcement center, public works department, DMV, Drainage, 4H, Soil and Water, GIS, and Planning and Zoning, learning about the many services and career opportunities that support our community.
To top it off, students enjoyed a delicious lunch prepared by the Blue Earth American Legion Auxiliary—thank you for your hospitality and support! During lunch, students had the opportunity to hear from local probation officers and the veterans service coordinator, gaining even more perspective on community services and careers.

🚌Blue Earth Area Transportation is excited to introduce the Bus Rider of the Week program! 🚌
This positive recognition program encourages safe, respectful, and kind behavior while riding the school bus.
Each week, bus drivers select one student who consistently follows bus safety rules, listens to the driver’s directions, and shows kindness and respect to others. Students chosen as Bus Rider of the Week receive a certificate of recognition and a free Mini Blizzard coupon from Dairy Queen as a reward for their great choices.🍨
Through this program, we aim to promote bus safety, responsibility, and a positive riding experience for all students. We appreciate the support of our families and community as we work together to keep our buses safe and welcoming.
