Activities Director Armstrong joined in the event to help so that the leaves could be loaded on a trailer and hauled away. Pamyua is Alaska’s most famous Inuit band! Their performances honor and share indigenous Inuit cultural traditions through ceremony and songs passed down through generations. Their unique performances blend traditional Inuit drum/dance melodies with contemporary R&B and soul music, often referred to as “tribal funk” or “Inuit soul.” On Tuesday, we were fortunate to have Pamyua visit BEA Elementary School,; students enjoyed learning about the inuit culture through music and were able to see the similarities and differences to their own culture. We are grateful for the enriching experience of welcoming individuals from different cultures, expanding our horizons and deepening our understanding of the world around us. 🌍🤝 Learn more about "Pamyua" by watching this short PBS sponsored video: https://youtu.be/gjr4sNy9P9U
