Department: ELL (English Language Learners)
Donna has been a member of the Blue Earth Area staff since 2003, after teaching English language learner students for several years in Wisconsin. She earned her Bachelor's degree from Crown College with teaching certifications in Early Childhood, Kindergarten, and Elementary Grades 1-6. She went on to earn her Master's of Education degree and Reading Specialist degrees at Viterbo College. Donna also earned her ESL certification from Lakeland College. As an ER&D Trainer for Minnesota, Donna appreciates the opportunities to share research-based instructional practice and strategies with other teachers in the areas of Reading Comprehension, Beginning Reading Instruction, and English Language Learners: Language and Content. Donna and her husband, David, live in Blue Earth. They greatly enjoy their three daughters, six sons, and several grandchildren spread across the United States. In her free time, Donna enjoys gardening, biking, reading, and time with friends and family.
